Skyview App: This is a Super Cool Way to Explore The Universe!

IMG_4105

This is not new – but new to me!! Skyview was originally launched in 2011 and has been downloaded over 9 million times. It’s free on the app store. Once on your phone or iPad, you point it anywhere – your apartment, in the street, at work or at school and you see what’s in space. It identifies the names of the stars and planets and constellations and shows you where in the sky they would be at any specific time.

It was created by Terminal Eleven, an award winning mobile application developer founded by a small group of engineers who wanted to bring innovative and interactive software to mobile platforms. Their software development experience ranges from aircraft simulations to user interface design and development.

I am starting to LOVE augmented reality – it’s amazing on Skyview and it was also amazing when I initially signed up for PokemonGo. I expect we will start to see lots of very cool and fun uses for this technology in 2017.
