Here Are The Top 10 Photos From My Trip Per Google Searches.

I’m always astonished at the number of views some of my photos get on Google. And I’m especially baffled when an unremarkable photo gets a gazillion views – WHY?

As a Google Guide (Level 7), I routinely post reviews and photos from my travels. I also rely on other people’s reviews to determine where I want to stay or what I want to do or see.

To date, my photos have garnered over 7 million views. I was curious to see which places from my recent trip around the Mid-and Western States were connecting with my fellow Googlers.

My #1 photo from this trip, with over 24,000 views, is from the Mother Road Market in Tulsa. It is the first food hall to open in the city (at the end of 2018) and was jam-packed the day I visited.

My itinerary for each city was built around art galleries/museums, cool hotels and restaurants and an array of quirky or iconic activities, e.g., the Western Idaho State Fair.

Always fascinating to see what the Googlers want to know more about!

Mother Road Market, Tulsa: 24,230 Views

Why this photo, who knows? But I did see LOTS of people getting that Jumbo Shrimp with Coconut at the Nice Guys Shrimp Shack!

Philbrook Museum, Tulsa: 12,398 views

This photo of their magnificent Kehinde Wiley garnered 12,398 views (and deservedly so)!

Also this exterior shot of the Philbrook: 1460 views

I LOVED the Philbrook mansion with those beautiful gardens. A must-see, absolutely gorgeous!

Brad Kahlhamer’s show at the Bockley Gallery, Minneapolis: 5190 views

I’m obviously a bit biased here but this show (along with Brad’s concurrent museum show at the M) was spectacular. Big congrats to all involved!

Txikiteo Restaurant, Boise: 4494 views

We ate at this Basque restaurant twice, and it is fabulous. Same owner as the Modern Hotel & Bar where we stayed.

Coperta Restaurant, Denver: 2826 views

This was the best restaurant we ate at in Denver. I get why it’s a local favorite – and thank you to the Ramble for recommending.

Cherry Street Farmers Market, Tulsa: 2367 views

Very cool market. I would be here every week if I lived here. And they have a very trendy selection of products from kombucha to bone broth to probiotics.

Denver Central Market: 2222 views

Another food hall. This one, in the RiNo district, had terrific sandwiches and charcuterie. Very popular spot.

Amelia’s Restaurant, Tulsa: two photos tied for #8 spot (1275 views and 1171 views)

This was another great restaurant recommended to me by the staff at Hodges Bend. Everything is cooked in a wood-fired oven.

Il Posto Restaurant, Denver: 1115 views

This Italian restaurant got rave reviews. We didn’t think it was “all that,” but we did like this dessert.

Milk Market, Denver: 1023 views

Another food hall situation – we opted for the gelato from Cornicello – delish!

Bottom Line.

It looks like it’s all about food all of the time! Especially when you have the opportunity to pick and choose among all these yummy options.

Art also makes a strong showing. I am surprised, however, that none of that fantastic street art in Tulsa or Denver cracked the top 10.
